A progressive rummy card game

Eight hands.
One goal each.
Zero shortcuts.

8 Hand is a fast, social rummy variant for 3–6 players. Every hand hands you a new meld to build toward — sets, runs, and the wild 1s that fill either — and the lowest score after all eight wins.

How a turn works

The rhythm is simple enough to teach in a minute — the eight goals are what keep it interesting for eight hands straight.

01 · DRAW

Take a card

Draw from the pile, or take the top discard — anyone can steal it out of turn, but the player up next always gets first claim.

02 · LAY DOWN

Meet the hand's goal

Once your cards match the current hand's exact combination of sets and runs, lay it all down at once — no laying down part of a goal.

03 · DISCARD

End your turn

Add extra cards to any meld already on the table, then discard. First to empty their hand ends the round — and if the draw pile ever runs dry first, the hand ends right there too.

The eight hands

Every round raises the bar. Sizes below are minimums — sets need 3+ matching numbers, runs need 4+ in sequence and the same color.
